How Sensitive People Feel Empowered
If you notice a person isn't comfortable being teased or made fun of, even if it sounds like it's just play for you, realize everyone is different, and we need to respect boundaries. Some people are way more sensitive than others (yes, like yours truly). There isn't a correct degree of emotional sensitivity because everyone is different. However, it's always good practice to respect the boundaries of people who tend to be more sensitive to comments or actions perceived as harsh. Sensitive people usually strive from compliments. This doesn't mean we don't like to receive constructive feedback. Usually, though, harsh words, comments, or expressions are off-putting, disconcerting, and oppressive to sensitive people.
On the other hand, sensitive people are usually empaths, and we will strive to help you with what's needed, as long as it's within our means to help somebody else or to help a situation improve. We tend to be more tactful. I have been trying to balance it out now to be more assertive. It's an art, I'll tell you.
