Starting the Practice of Meditation

Last week, I promised you a message on how to start meditating.

There are different types of meditation, as explained earlier. I'll give you a little guidance on how to meditate the simpler way. I recommend starting with a 5-minute meditation.

Set a 5-minute timer.

Sit with your eyes closed, pay attention to your heart and breathing pattern, and feel yourself in your body: this gives you increased self-awareness.

Continue breathing deeply, choose a mantra or a phrase that will inspire you, and repeat it in your head for 3-4 minutes.

After the alarm goes off, take some deep breaths, be fully aware of your surroundings, and open your eyes.

Thank yourself, the universe or a higher being, in any way you perceive a higher power, and finish the meditation.
