September 21st is Gratitude Day.

A 2015 study showed that psychotherapy patients who practiced writing about gratitude in their daily lives “reported significantly better mental health.”

Another study showed that people who made a daily list of things they were grateful for were more alert, enthusiastic, determined, optimistic, energetic, more prone to helping others, more physically active, and were more into accomplishing personal goals.

It is a good idea to maintain a daily gratitude journal. Writing on it at the end of the day summing up things you were grateful for during that specific day can help you sum up in a month the many things you are most thankful for.
