Get On Your Weight Loss Journey

I read an article this past week explaining the weight loss journey and trajectory of this man who eliminated 240 lbs. in 3 years.

He lost weight over the course of 3 years.

Most people want fast results. It’s typically easier to lose weight when a person is severely overweight. However, this man was able to see results because he continued after he eliminated the weight that was easily shed.

I also explained this to two patients recently. They’d like to shed about 50 lbs. each. I explained that it is possible to get to their goal weight of 50 lbs. less than their current weight.

Basically, if you eliminate 500 calories per day, through exercise or through diet, or both, you’ll shed 1 lb. per week. Ideally, you’d like to preserve lean muscle, and the quality of the diet helps with this.

If you'd like to lose weight, set a goal and place it where you see it every day.

Especially if it's a goal that could take you several months to accomplish.

It's important to visualize it every day, as well as your progress on it.

You can prepare a sheet containing your plan for how many calories you'll save or spend and how you'll make it happen.

I’ll leave you with this thought today. It’s a lot of food for thought, actually, if you pay attention to it.

Enjoy the health & weight loss journey,
